Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched April 24, 1943. Commissioned USS LST-265 on July 27, 1943. During World War II USS LST-265 was assigned to the Europe-Africa-Middle East Theater. Participated in theConvoy UGS-36 on April 1, 1944, the Elba and Pianosa landings on June 17, 1944 and the Invasion of Normandy on August 15 through September 25, 1944. USS LST-265 earned three battle stars for World War II service. Dicommissioned on December 11, 1946. Sold on February 20, 1948 to Excello Corp. of New Haven, CT for conversion to merchant serrvice. Final disposition, fate unknown.
