Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched March 13, 1943. Commissioned USS LST-264 on July 16, 1943. During World War II USS LST-264 was assigned to the Europe-Africa-Middle East Theater. Participated in the Invasion of Normandy on June 6 through 25, 1944. USS LST-264 earned one battle star for World War II service. Dicommissioned on January 11, 1946. Final disposition sold for conversion to non-self-propelled mercantile operation on April 23, 1948 to Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Co. in Newport News, VA.
