Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched January 16, 1944. Commissioned USS LST-141 on February 16, 1944. During World War II USS LST-141 was assigned to the Europe-Africa-Middle East Theater. Participated in two campaigns including Convoy UGS-36 (April 1, 1944) and the Invasion of Southern France (August 15 to September 22, 1944). USS LST-141 earned two battle stars for World War II service. Decommissioned on December 18, 1945. Struck from the Naval Register on February 7, 1946. Final Disposition, sold for scrapping on May 28, 1948, to Hughes Bros. Inc., of New York, N.Y.
