Built by American Bridge Company at the Ambridge Manufacturing Plant in Ambridge, PA. Launched January 12, 1944. Commissioned USS LST-139 on February 14, 1944. During World War II USS LST-139 was assigned to the Europe-Africa-Middle East Theater. Participated in the Invasion of Normandy (June 6 to 25, 1944). USS LST-139 earned one battle star for World War II service. Decommissioned on March 25, 1946. Struck from the Naval Register on May 8, 1946. Sold for conversion to merchant service on April 22, 1947, to McWilliams Dredging Co., New Orleans, LA. Final Disposition, fate unknown.
