Completed in 1992 by American Bridge, the Los Angeles Convention Center project consisted of the largest project ever undertaken in downtown Los Angeles, covering 58 acres of land. The building contains 810,000 square feet, including a 560,000-square-foot exhibit hall area, 1,750 square feet of exhibit booths, 260,000 square feet of concourse halls, 65 meeting rooms, 6,200 parking spaces, and 32 truck docks. The project utilized 16,000 tons of structural steel, including long deep trusses, star columns, and a majestic space frame lobby. The expansion was completed in two phases.
