Completed in 1951 by American Bridge, the Los Alamos Canyon Bridge project consisted of fabricating and erecting a deck arch roadway bridge over a 180′ deep canyon, with a 104′ rise to the top of the arch. The box rib sections were 6′ x 2 1/2′. The elevation of the jobsite was 7,400′, and the work was completed during winter in extreme cold conditions. The bridge was erected with falsework bents 14′ high.
