Las Vegas High Roller (LVHR)

Completed in 2013 by American Bridge, the Las Vegas High Roller project involved constructing the world’s largest observation wheel at 550’ (168m). The 469’ (143m) diameter wheel rests on four inclined steel legs, with a hub, spindle, bearing, and cable spoke system. Work included erecting the steel support and brace legs, the 545.6-ton hub and spindle assembly, and the 6.6’ (2m) diameter rim in 53’ (16.1m) segments. The wheel was rotated during construction using a hydraulic rotating mechanism. Final cable tensioning and wheel operation were completed after installation of the permanent drive system.
