Completed in 1985 by American Bridge, the Lakeshore Drive Bascule Bridge Reconstruction project consisted of a complete reconstruction of a double-leaf, double-deck trunnion roadway bascule bridge. The overall length of the main span is 262′-6″ (center-to-center of trunnions). Work included the replacement of structural members and the entire floor system, as well as the repair and replacement of operating machinery.
