Completed in 2008 by American Bridge, the Lake Okeechobee S65E Structure Tailwater Weir project involved two 2,700CY underwater concrete pours for the South Florida Water Management District. The emergency project included the construction of eight 58′ diameter sheet pile cells, a 200′ wide weir, and the installation of 2,340 tons of piling and 57,000 tons of armoring stone. The work aimed to prevent structural flotation, sliding, and scouring due to low water levels in Lake Okeechobee.
