Completed in 2006 by American Bridge, the Lake Cumberland Bridge project in Kentucky featured a 1,712′ (522m) four-lane bridge over Cumberland Lake, including a 1,572′ (479m) two-span continuous steel truss. The bridge had a 130′ (40m) center height and 84′ (26m) vertical clearance. The project included roadway approaches, a cast-in-place concrete deck, and demolition of the old bridge. American Bridge used an innovative erection method with minimal falsework and accelerated the construction of approach spans to streamline the process.
