Completed in 1997 by American Bridge, the Kemper Arena Expansion added 2,000 seats by extending the center roof truss with massive steel pipe “jib” structures and moving the side walls. The complex project involved field-welded, post-tensioned assemblies up to 140′ tall and 190′ long, completed without disrupting the arena’s event schedule.
