Hurricane Deck Bridge

Completed in 2014 by American Bridge, the Hurricane Deck Bridge project replaced a 2,281′ deck truss bridge carrying Missouri State Route 5 over Lake of the Ozarks. AB’s innovative Alternate Technical Concept (ATC) involved building a new 2,260′ bridge on a slightly offset alignment to minimize environmental impacts. The bridge includes plate and precast girder units, supported by a combination of piling, drilled shafts, and spread footings. AB’s ATC reduced steel usage, eliminated a seven-day road closure, and resulted in the lowest bid, saving costs over MoDOT’s original design.
