George Washington Bridge Hanger Replacement

Completed in 2000 by American Bridge, the George Washington Bridge Hanger Replacement project involved replacing six hanger ropes to allow testing of removed cables. The work required different methods for each replacement location, with engineering provided by American Bridge. Sections of the main cables were unwrapped, inspected, and re-wrapped, all without closing the bridge, achieving an AVD of 250,000.
