Gene Hartzell Memorial (Lehigh River) Bridge

Completed in 2001 by American Bridge, the Gene Hartzell Memorial (Lehigh River) Bridge project involved supplying and erecting a 4,793-ton, six-span bridge. The 1,863′ crossing featured a continuous cantilevered deck truss, with a 594′ main span and two girder spans. Erection was done using cantilever methods with barge and ground-mounted cranes. The truss and concrete deck are composite and designed without verticals for a clean aesthetic. The design engineer was URS.
