Completed in 1965 by American Bridge, the Gateway Center #1 project consisted of the fabrication and erection of a 20-story office building measuring 135 feet by 270 feet and rising 275 feet in height. The structure was constructed directly above the active Northwestern Railroad Station, spanning 11 operational tracks. The building features an all-welded structural steel frame and an all-welded steel fascia, demonstrating American Bridge’s precision engineering and complex erection capabilities in an active urban rail environment.
