Fort Pitt Bridge

Completed in 1958 by American Bridge, the Fort Pitt Bridge project consisted of a 1,210-foot-long structure with a 750-foot main arch span and a width of 62 feet. The tie truss supports four vehicular lanes on each deck. Erection was carried out sequentially using falsework bents placed both in the river and atop the truss. The project utilized a total of 8,019 tons of structural steel.
