Florida Avenue Bridge

Completed in 2005 by American Bridge, the Florida Avenue Bridge project involved a 615′ crossing of the Industrial Canal in New Orleans. It featured a 342′ vertical lift truss span, two roadway lanes, and a single-track railway. The bridge included 2 tower spans, 1 east approach span, and 1 west approach span. The towers, 256′ tall, allow the truss to lift for 156′ vertical clearance. The project included steel foundations, precast pile approaches, new fenders, and alterations to the floodwall. American Bridge handled structural steel and mechanical work, with steel fabrication by Hanjin Heavy Industries and mechanical equipment from Hardy Tynes Manufacturing.
