A highly confidential project to construct a new wharf for housing the U.S. Navy’s Trident submarines. Scope of work included driving steel pipe piles with a diameter of 24-inch, 36-inch and 48-inch, with lengths up to 205-foot, setting precast caps, beams, and deck sections that weigh up to 140 ton, cast-in-place concrete operations to pour caps, beams and deck. Additional work included installing six lightning towers around new pier, fabricating and installing new structural steel cover over pier, and installing new mechanical and electrical systems on shore side to upgrade the facility and provide utilities on new pier.
