Completed in 1992 by American Bridge, the Ewing Avenue Bascule Bridge Rehabilitation project involved structural and mechanical repairs to a double-leaf bascule bridge over the Calumet River in Chicago. Work included replacing movable leaf floorbeams, stringers, bracing, deck grating, and deteriorated components of the side trusses. The bottom chord members were replaced, and the mechanical system was cleaned, inspected, repaired, realigned, and adjusted to original tolerances.
