American Bridge performed emergency repairs to this existing three-lane bridge carrying traffic on a six-lane divided highway over a four-lane median divided highway. Major emergency repairs became necessary when the bridge was struck by an over height transport. The scope of work included the replacement of three AASHTO Type IV concrete girders, overhangs, and barrier wall. A new cast-in-place concrete deck was placed. All work was undertaken at night. The 40-ton, 100-foot girders were erected over the roadway using a 500 ton hydraulic truck crane, with all erection engineering and erection provided by American Bridge Company.
