Completed in 1930 by American Bridge, the Empire State Building project consisted of the fabrication and erection of an 86-story office building, measuring 445′ by 234′ by 1,250′ high; the tallest in the world when it was completed in 1930. The frame was erected in only 20 weeks. Half of the fabrication was sublet to McClintic and Marshall by prior arrangement, and the erection was carried out by Post and McCord, a division of the American Bridge Company.
