Completed in 1951 by American Bridge, the El Carmen Bridge project consisted of the supply, fabrication, and erection of a 696′ (212m) crossing of the Magdalena River. The mainspan is a 460′ (140m) suspension bridge. The two cables are each made from 12 bridge strands.
