Completed in 1992 by American Bridge, the Eagle Avenue Vertical Lift Bridge project involved the full rehabilitation of a bridge stuck in the open position for three years. Work included using falsework to support the lift span and counterweights, replacing operating and counterweight ropes, sheaves, and realigning tower structures. The project also included repairs to machinery and electrical systems and replacing the lift span deck.
