Danvers Beverly Relief Interceptor

Completed in 1989 by Mole Constructors, the Danvers Beverly Relief Interceptor project entailed the construction of 1,600 linear feet of 102-inch tunnel utilizing a Jarva Mark VIII Tunnel Boring Machine. Excavation took place through granite at a depth of 60 feet. The tunnel accommodated 42-inch, 30-inch, and 24-inch ductile iron pipe and was subsequently backfilled with cellular grout.
