Completed in 1942 by American Bridge, the Cuscatlan Bridge project consisted of a two-lane helical strand suspension bridge across the Rio Lempa, designed and built in-house by AB. The bridge was completed in July 1942 and was destroyed during the El Salvador Civil War in 1984, later replaced.
