CTA Orange Line L

Completed in 1989 by American Bridge, the CTA Orange Line L project involved constructing a 28-span, two-track elevated transit line from downtown Chicago to Midway Airport. The 3,300-foot structure featured 14 spans of AASHTO beams and 14 spans of steel plate girders, many of which were curved and super-elevated. The project required close coordination with highway and freight rail operations.
