Cozumel Cruise Terminal Pier Replacement

Completed in 2008 by American Bridge, the Cozumel Cruise Terminal Pier Replacement project involved constructing a 1,531′ main cruise ship pier and a 424′ tender pier. The main pier included 41 bents, two mooring dolphins, and 205 drilled shafts up to 141′ deep. American Bridge self-performed shaft concrete installation using a 150′ tremmie pipe. The deck consisted of 328 precast concrete panels, with a post-tensioned composite system. A 54-shaft tender pier was also built. The project was completed in open ocean conditions to accommodate Carnival’s large cruise ships.
