Connecticut River Railroad Bridge at Saybrook

Completed in 1907 by American Bridge, the Connecticut River Railroad Bridge at Saybrook project consisted of fabricating and erecting a 1,500′ nine-span double track railroad bridge with seven 182′ through truss spans, one 158′ Scherzer rolling lift span, and one 68′ girder span. Total steel weight was 6,121 tons. Built for the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad, it remains in use by Amtrak.
