Completed in 1998 by American Bridge, the Cold Springs Canyon Bridge Seismic Retrofit reinforced the 1,148-foot deck arch bridge originally built by the company in 1962. The project included bolted steel plate reinforcements, new caissons, grade beams, concrete anchors, expanded thrust blocks, and tensioned steel cables. Major bracing was added for seismic stability, with all work completed while keeping the bridge operational.
