Completed in 1974 by American Bridge, the Clay Wade Bailey (U.S. Route 42 & 127) project consisted of a nine-span bridge carrying U.S. Routes 42 and 127 across the Ohio River, connecting Cincinnati, Ohio, and Covington, Kentucky. The bridge features a three-span cantilevered truss with a 675′ center span, two travel lanes in each direction, and a middle reversible lane.
