Completed in 2003 by American Bridge, the Chicago Skyway Calumet River Bridge Rehabilitation involved structural steel repairs on a nine-span, 2,458-foot truss bridge. Work included replacing or repairing truss components at 480 locations while maintaining roadway and marine traffic. American Bridge fabricated 1/3 of the 1.44 million pounds of steel. The project was adjacent to a similar rehabilitation of the 2,384-foot Commercial Avenue approach.
