Bulkhead at National Oceanographic and Atmosphere Administration’s (NOAA) Marine Operations Center

Completed in 2012 by American Bridge, the Bulkhead at NOAA Marine Operations Center in Norfolk, VA, involved designing and constructing an 800′ waterfront bulkhead and fendering system. The project included replacing the old fender system, relocating utilities, and installing a new sanitary sewer line. The bulkhead was built 3′ outboard of the existing one, with optional work including additional bulkheads and a communications/power duct bank. The contractor also replaced dolphin clusters, salvaged and refinished mooring cleats, and managed all engineering, construction, and project services.
