Completed in 2010 by American Bridge, the Bronx Whitestone Bridge Misc. Structural Improvements project involved fabrication and installation of structural protections for hanger ropes and main cables, along with tower reinforcements. The 3,868 suspension bridge, spanning Long Island Sound, remained fully operational during work, with American Bridge handling all traffic maintenance and security clearances. The bridge was originally constructed by American Bridge in 1939.
