This project entailed the removal and demolition of the existing bulkhead cap, fenders, bollards, foundations, utilities, and prop wash wall. In their place, a new sheet pile bulkhead wall was installed in front of the former structure. The project also involved the construction of a new soil system including anchor and tiebacks, robust foundations for new bollards, and a resilient bulkhead cap. This extensive project seamlessly integrated complex demolition and construction activities to enhance and fortify the waterfront infrastructure, ensuring its durability and functionality for years to come.
The successful completion of this project marked a significant achievement in Johnson Bros. Corporations (JBCs) portfolio. Not only was the job finished on time, but it was also delivered well under the owners budget, a remarkable feat that drew accolades from the Port staff. It was a standout accomplishment in their eyes, as it was one of the only capital projects that adhered to both the schedule and budget constraints.
One of the driving forces behind this achievement was the outstanding coordination between the JBC team, the Engineer, and the Port. The project underwent numerous changes and adaptations, and each step of the way, their collective efforts were marked by seamless collaboration. The ability to adapt and make changes while maintaining project efficiency was a testament to the JBC teams dedication and professionalism. The result of this collective effort was the transformation of the terminal into a state-of-the-art mega-yacht terminal. Notably, this development was hailed as the largest of its kind in Palm Beach County.
