Anthony Wayne Bridge Rehabilitation

Completed in 1998, the Anthony Wayne Bridge Rehabilitation project involved American Bridge as the general contractor for the 3,215’ suspension bridge over the Maumee River in Toledo, Ohio. Work included replacing 240 suspender cables, upgrading cable anchorages, re-wrapping main cables, replacing sidewalks, electrical upgrades, and removing/re-painting the bridge with three coats. Additional tasks included installing inspection walkways, handrails, and elastomeric joints, as well as resurfacing the deck. American Bridge handled all steel, cable, and concrete work, while subcontractors managed milling, blasting, resurfacing, electrical, and painting tasks. Two of the four lanes were closed during the project.
