Completed in 2017 by American Bridge, the Angus Macdonald Bridge Suspended Spans Deck Replacement involved replacing the 762m suspension bridges superstructure in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Work included removing and replacing orthotropic deck truss segments using a custom lifting gantry and cantilevering falsework. The project also replaced 148 hanger assemblies, six cable bands, and added a dehumidification system. Despite the complexity, the bridge remained open during peak weekday traffic, with weekend closures used for deck segment replacements. This was only the second suspended span replacement on a live bridge, the first also completed by American Bridge on the Lions Gate Bridge.
