Completed in 1967 by American Bridge, the Angostura (Orinoco River) Bridge project consisted of the design, fabrication, and erection of a 5,509’ crossing in Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela. Under subcontract, AB handled steel tower and superstructure fabrication, as well as erection of towers, cables, and deck. The 2,336’ main span features airspun 18.5″ main cables and a steel deck truss. It remains the longest suspension bridge in South America.
