Completed in 2008 by American Bridge, the Angostura Bridge Engineering Services project involved the rehabilitation of the 2,336′ suspension bridge. This included truss rehab, main cable inspection and repair, hanger rope replacement, and grid deck repair. American Bridge designed and provided temporary work platforms, cable carts, and specialized equipment for the hanger changeout, which required transferring the span load to new hangers. The bridge, constructed by American Bridge in 1967, remains South America’s longest single span.
