145th Street Swing Bridge

Completed in 1902 by American Bridge, the 145th Street Swing Bridge featured a 380’ thru lattice rim-bearing swing span with three truss lines and two 120’ deck lattice spans with seven girder lines. The deck was concrete on buckle plate, with 4,644,666 pounds of structural steel. The project was for Rogers, McMullen & McBean, owned by the NYC Department of Bridges.
