American Bridge welcomes new Chief Operating Officer 150 150 Southland Holdings

Pittsburgh, PA (October 21, 2013) – On October 14, 2013 American Bridge Company President and CEO Michael D. Flowers announced that Terry Poole was joining the Company in the capacity of COO (Chief Operating Officer). “A constructor at heart, Terry will bring a wealth of experience and support to the AB team”, said Flowers.

Poole has extensive experience with Design-Build projects, Public Private Partnerships and Joint Ventures. He has over 26 years experience in heavy civil construction and over 15 years performing as project manager on large scale technically challenging bridge and road projects. Terry managed projects such as the $1B Northwest Anthony Henday project in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and the $350M John James Audubon Bridge in St. Francisville, LA the $534M Cooper River Bridge in Charleston, SC, which was, at the time of its completion, North America’s longest cable-stay main span. Three of his projects were recognized by the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), winning “Design-Build Excellence” awards.

Most recently Terry spent a year at Bechtel, as General Manager, North America and previously he served as VP of Opertations and President – Heavy Civil for Flatiron.Earlier in his career he also spent ten years at PCL. Terry will work out of the American Bridge headquarters office near Pittsburgh, PA. He is a 1987 graduate in Construction Engineering Technology from Fanshawe College.
