Completed in 1941 by American Bridge, the Naval Drydocks Hammerhead Crane at Hunters Point project consisted of fabricating and erecting the world’s largest overhead traveling crane, with a 730′ runway and 8,400 tons of steel, capable of lifting up to one million pounds.
