Completed in 2024 by Oscar Renda Contracting, the East Side WTP Biological Filtration Optimization Improvements Project consisted of constructing a backwash pump station, an electrical building, a hydrogen peroxide building, a liquid ammonium sulfate building, and reconfiguration of the East chemical building. Scope of work included 2,800 linear feet of hydrogen peroxide and liquid ammonium sulfate concrete trenches, installation of more than 16,000 linear feet of chemical piping, approximately 11,800 vertical feet of drilled piers, rehabilitation of filter media, and installation of new static mixers and chemical injection sites throughout the plant.
